Floral designer

My work as a floral designer uses natural perishable products, such as fresh flowers and foliage. I am inspired by colour and shape, and how they interplay. I prefer using seasonal products harvested locally; however, I have been experimenting with paper and hat frames.

I have worked as a florist for about 45 years. I opened my own business in 1986 and at one point ran three flower shop locations. I specialised in weddings and events. During the latter years I also included container gardening and wreath making. I always tried to push the boundaries of the floral products I used, and created some award winning designs.
