Sudbury Artists’ Open Studio Trail 2024
June is artists’ month in Sudbury, with art exhibitions and artists’ studios to be visited throughout the month. It’s a great opportunity to find out what is contemporary in the art world, by visiting a local art gallery, an exhibition right here in town, and nine artists’ studios.
This exciting month of art begins on 1st June, where the Mill Tye Gallery will show work from 12PM Twelve Printmakers, and will be open every weekend during the month. The Ergo Art Group is holding an exhibition of abstract paintings at the Christopher Centre on the weekend of 1st and 2nd June.
The Sudbury Art Trail will be held on the weekend of the 15th and 16th. The nine artists’ studios are each within easy walking distance of the centre of Sudbury. You can meet the artist, and find out how the work was produced and the inspiration behind it. Several artists are also opening their studios on other weekends in June.
There will be a very varied selection of work, from acrylic painting and collage through to ceramics, pottery, sculpture, cartoons and illustration, and fused and stained glass. Something for everyone, in fact, and, throughout the month, everything you’ll view is for sale.
You can pick up a Directory, listing every artist exhibiting in Suffolk in June, and also a flyer with the Open Studios Trail and a handy map, at many shops and public buildings in and around Sudbury. You’ll also find more details on the Mill Tye Gallery website www.milltyegallery.co.uk
Come and enjoy a feast of art!
